Dacic: The police won't allow disruption of the election process in Kosjeric and Zajecar

Interior Minister Ivica Dačić said today that the police will help prevent incidents during voting in local elections in Kosjerić and Zaječar.

"Obstructing the electoral process is not allowed and large legal penalties are provided for it, even prison terms. We will help prevent incidents and prevent the electoral process from being obstructed," he told RTS's Morning news.

Answering the question of when the police will react, he said that it is prescribed by law that they react when the voting process is obstructed in a physical sense, for example when someone does not allow voting, breaks ballot boxes, harasses people at the polls.

According to him, this behavior of the police is their obligation under the law and a special order is not required for such a thing. Dacic said that there is no information that this morning, since the opening of the polling stations, there was interference with voting at the polling stations.
